DESCRIPTION: Originally performed in 1950 by the Culberg Ballet, Ms. Julie had a Boston Premiere in March of 1988. This costume seen in the photograph is the lead character danced by Denise Pons, Marie-Christine Mouis and Lynn Cote. Done as part of a repertory show during a program titled “The Scandinavians,” the ballet is set in Sweden during the 1880’s and is based on the play by August Strindberg.
