Boxing Veneer

This image is the result of painstakingly knitting together over 20 separate closeup photographs of these gloves and the wood veneer background.

I chose wood veneer because the leather on the gloves was so worn that it started to resemble bark from a tree. Placing these tattered gloves on a modern background of wood felt right.

The image as a whole has the subtle quality of having everything in focus. This was only achieved through photographing each section separately and up close. The result is not highly evident as an impossibility, but it gives the image a hyper real quality that I care about. It enables the viewer to look at all of the aspects of these objects and really see them. The crispness of the quality makes appreciation of the broken down gloves easier.
